Moving Update

As you can see I've added a countdown clock to when we officially become Texans.

The movers are coming to pack up our house on September 4 and then loading the truck the following day. We'll be flying to Dallas on Sunday morning, so that's what we're counting down to.

We don't know exactly when we're moving in to our new house. They've given us a delivery "window" of five days (Sept. 8-13). (That's worse than the cable company, they usually give you a four hour window. ) We'll be staying in Phil's bachelor pad/corporate apartment until then.

Birdhouses and Muffin Tin Monday

So, to pass the time on this LONG summer, I had to get a little creative today. Today was supposed to be Landen's 1st day of Pre K, but since we're moving next week, I pulled him out of it. (I didn't want to buy uniforms for him to go to 1 week of Pre K). So, anyways, all his friends are in school now, so it's just me and the boys from now on. Anyways, we didn't have anything really going on today and the boys were super bored (and basically driving me nuts). So, I found a bird house kit I had left over from Cub Scouts. Landen and I put it together and then he painted it all by himself. He had a great time and it turned out very nice.

My cousin Summer gave me the cutest idea called "Muffin Tin Monday". (See Summer, you aren't the last person to ever do this- I am!) What you do is fill a muffin tin with all kinds of different finger foods/ snacks and that's what your kids get for lunch. So, I decided to do that today and the boys loved it. The only problem was I think they had too many foods to choose from and let's just say the treats (suckers/ cookies) went first.

Moving Update

Well, we have found a house in Texas. It's actually in Plano. We're really excited about our new house. We love all the nice features of it, how big it is and especially the brick! (Got to love Texas for their beautiful brick houses!) We are set to move in on September 12th. Yikes- only about 3 weeks!

Also, we have found renters for our house here in Arizona. YEAH! They seem like a nice family and hopefully it'll all work out well. Things are falling into place and we feel very blessed!

My Cousin Curt's Wedding

This past weekend, I went up to Seattle to go to my cousin Curt's wedding. Phil was nice enough to stay home with the boys so I could go up there. It was a nice little break- especially, since I've been doing the single mom thing during the week while Phil is in Dallas working. They got married in the Seattle, Washington Temple. It was a very nice sealing. Then, we all went over to a great Italian Restaurant and had a nice wedding dinner. It was so good to see all my family while I was there. My dad's family is awesome and they ALL come to weddings- so I was able to see my grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins.

Catch Up/ Gee 50th Wedding Anniversary Party

Well, it's been a while since I've posted. We've had a pretty crazy couple of weeks. Phil started his new job in Dallas at Southwest Airlines two weeks ago today. Me and the boys went out to Texas with him and stayed there for a week and a half. Phil really seems to like his job. Southwest seems like a great company to work for and I'm glad he's gotten on board with them! The boys and I had a nice time in Dallas. We spent most of the time driving around checking out all the areas (Thanks Summer for all your time and help with this!) and trying to figure out where we'd like to live. We also looked at houses a bit. Then, we flew home to AZ to pack up again and go up to Utah for Phil's parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary Party/ Gee Family reunion. We had a nice celebration dinner for them at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We had a picture slideshow one of the nephew's made, a scrapbook we put together for them, singing by the grandkids, and each kid gave a tribute to his parents. It was a really nice evening. I think his parents really enjoyed it! After, the party, we all went over to the Salt Lake Temple and did a sealing session with all family names. It was a really special evening.


Then, the next day, we spent the day up at Pineview Reservoir. Phil's parents rented a few jetskiis and we just played around at the lake all day. Everyone had a great time and of course, since it was a Gee event, we had plenty of great food!
