Beehive Camp Goodies

I am a Beehive advisor (over 12 and 13 year old girls)  in our Ward, and this week we had Beehive Camp.  So, Heidi (the counselor over Beehives) and I decided  we wanted to give our girls some things that would make camp more special.  So, we made them some fun things.  It was a lot of work and it's basically consumed my life for the past month, but the girls loved them and they turned out super cute!

Survival Kits

Each item in the bags had a little poem or saying to go along with them.  Example: "Oh LIP BALM is such a treat. Especially, this one which is so sweet. May it remind you of the words you speak. That they may be kind and soft and sweet."

Landen's T-ball Team Party

On Saturday, Landen had his last t-ball game.  Thank heavens, since it was over 100 degrees.  After the game, he had his team party at The Purple Cow.  It's kind of a fun restaurant that serves purple milkshakes.

Right outside the restaurant is a splash pad.  So, after the milkshakes, the kids played in the water.  They had a blast!

Landen's End of the Year Party

On the last day of school, we threw an end of the year party for Landen's class.  Here are some of the activities from the party.

For the craft, we had the kids make "cheetah spots" using their finger prints on a frame.  Then, we put a picture of their class in it.

Landen's Kindergarten Award Ceremony

Landen had an end of the year kindergarten awards ceremony at school.  Each kid was given an academic award and a character award.  Landen got the "Author Award" and the "Good Manners Award".  We are so proud of him!

Landen's Field Day

When I first got to field day, I was looking all over for Landen.  Finally, I found him.  So, I went over to say hi to him and he just kept on walking- didn't even acknowledge I was there.  This is the first time he was embarrassed by me.  It was kind of sad.  I can't believe this has started already.  Part of me wanted to just go up to him and give him a big kiss and hug and really embarrass him, but I think I was so shocked, I didn't.  I think the main reason he was embarrassed was because of his book buddy, Camden being with him.  He didn't want to seem like the little kindergartener who had his mommy there.  I guess this is the start of it all.

Nathan's End of Year Preschool Picnic

Back on May 27th (I'm a little behind in blogging, again!), Nathan had his end of year preschool picnic.  It was at a park close by his school.  They had all kinds of yummy finger foods.  The kids all put on a little program where they sang some songs they've been working on.  Nathan, who is my most outgoing child and not shy at all, totally got stage freight and wouldn't sing any of the songs.  He just sat up there staring out at all the parents.  I asked him why he didn't sing (because his teacher said that in class he's always singing the loudest of all the kids.) and he just told me, "because, I didn't feel like it."  After the little program, they got their completion certificates and then played with their friends on the playground, which according to Nathan was the best part of all!
