My mom is turning the big 6-0 this year, so we wanted to do something special for her. About three months ago, Phil told me that Wicked was coming to San Antonio in February. He suggested my mom, Leah and I go there for a girl's weekend. (Isn't he an awesome husband!) So, we decided to surprise my mom with it for her 60th birthday. About a week before our trip, my dad told her that she was going to San Antonio for the weekend with us as a birthday surprise. She was super excited about it. But, she didn't even know the best surprise yet- WICKED. We wanted to wait till we were in San Antonio to drop that one on her. So, we told her she needed to pack a dress because we wanted to take her to a nice dinner. She had no clue. We all flew to San Antonio and had a blast!
Here we all are on the river walk. Like all our matching cardigans? (Not planned)

So, after we had taken my mom to dinner, we were heading back to the hotel and we "happened" to walk by the theater that Wicked was playing at. My mom loves Wicked and has always wanted to go, so when she saw it was playing- she, of course, wanted to see if there were any tickets left to buy. So, I told her I'd go in and check. Well, I walked into the ticket office and just picked up my "will call" tickets and came out holding up 3 tickets. She was SO EXCITED! She thought I had just bought them right then. I told her that we bought them 3 months ago and had been planning it all along. She was so surprised- had no idea and was ecstatic- she even started crying. It was a priceless moment! So, we went back to our hotel and got dressed up and headed to the show!
Right after we surprised her with the tickets!
WICKED was amazing! I had seen it 2 years ago in San Antonio, but this was the 1st time for my mom and Leah! They loved it and I think I liked it more the 2nd time around! (It helped that our seats were great, too!)
