I'm so Proud of Landen

We are so proud of Landen and how much he is learning in school. Now, he has the ability to write me notes. See below:

(Translation: "I don't love you mom because you are not giving me the notebook")

Thanks you Chandler Elementary!
Now, Landen has two methods to vent when I don't give him his way.

LUCKY ME!

Pumpkin Patch

This past Saturday, we took the boys to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. It's a really cute (free) pumpkin patch that we went to last year and wanted to make a tradition of going every year. Unfortunately, this year, the only time we could go was on a Saturday afternoon and it was SO crowded. But, that didn't stop the boys from having a blast. They played in the blow up bounce houses and slides, went on a hay rides, got lost in the hay maze, and of course got some pictures with the pumpkins (for me).

Mini Golfing

Last week, Nathan and I went miniature golfing with some friends from our ward. It was the first time I'd ever taken Nate mini golfing and he loved it! Of course he did- what little boys wouldn't love being able to hit a ball around with a club? Here's some of the pictures I got.

Nice form.

The answers are...

Carter (2 months), Nathan (3 months), Landen (3 weeks)

Not too difficult. Most everyone got it. It's fun to see how different they all look, but also to see who Carter looks most like. I always have a hard time telling, especially with my own babies. It's also fun for me to see how Landen and Nathan look just the same, but just an older version. It makes me wonder what an older version of Carter will look like???

The New Mr. and Mrs. Austin Gillis

My brother Austin and his new wife Maegan got married on Sept. 26th. We went up to Utah and spent a long weekend up there for all the wedding festivities. We had a great time. It was so nice to see all the family. We are so excited for Austin and Maegan and are happy Maegan is a part of our family. She is an awesome girl!

Carter's Blessing

While we were up in Utah for my brother's wedding, we decided to bless Carter at the same time. Since both our families are there and we had so much extended family in town for the wedding, we thought it'd be a perfect time. We have now blessed all three boys up in SLC (even though we've lived in different cities each time: Landen- St. George, Nathan- Phoenix, and Carter- Dallas.) We blessed Carter at Phil's parent's church on Saturday, Sept. 26th. Phil gave a beautiful blessing and Carter was perfect during it- asleep the whole time! Carter should feel very lucky- he had 15 people in his circle. It was a wonderful blessing and we were so glad we were able to have so much family come and support us.

The man of the hour! Doesn't he look handsome.

Our Family of 5

All the men in the circle: (R-L) Brad Gillis, Steve Gray, Geoffrey Gee, Laurence Gee, Michael Marshall, Bro. Burgess, John Gee, Matthew Marshall, Phil Gee, Bud Garrett, Matt Gillis, Austin Gillis, Brent Gillis, Vaughn Hobbs and Mike Dyer

There are actually 6 generations on the Gillis side still living, but Granny (who is 98) wasn't there.

What we've been up to

Here is a quick catch up of what we've been up to lately.

LANDEN: Landen is still LOVING kindergarten. I thought the novelty of it would wear off, but he still loves it just as much as he did the first day. He has an awesome teacher and is making lots of friends. I can't believe how much he is learning already!

Left: Landen's class- they were having a "Western Day". We don't have much western gear- so all he has is a bandanna (pretty sad, since we live in TX).
Top Right- Landen and his friend Miles.
Bottom Right- Landen at his table.

NATHAN: Nathan has been enjoying being the "big brother" at home lately. He likes the one on one time w/ mom and Carter. But, he still misses "Nanny" sometimes and is always glad when he comes home. Nathan has been in swimming lessons for the past month. He is really enjoying them and doing great! He is pretty much swimming all by himself now. Way to go Nate!

CARTER: There's been a lot going on with Carter. He is 11 weeks old today and is really becoming a fun/ happy baby now. He was pretty colicky for the first 2 months, but now that he is on a magic little pill (called Prevecid) and his tummy is feeling better- he's a lot more enjoyable to be with! He's started smiling now and it's so fun to get those adorable little smiles. We still have to work at it a bit- but they are becoming much more frequent!

Don't know why this one is turned sideways and it's kind of blurry, but the smile is so cute that I had to put it on there. Plus, you got to love that he's showing off a bit of shoulder.

Carter took his first plane ride on Sept. 23rd to go to his Uncle Austin's wedding in SLC (more to come on the wedding). We flew from DAL- ELP- PHX- SLC. (no more simple 1 1/2 hr flight with no stops- Ahhh the good old days!) He did great. I was very nervous about it (with the colic and all) but I couldn't have asked for a better baby! He flew like a pro!

2 months old

JENNIE: I've just been busy trying to adjust to 3 kids. It's thrown me for a loop and has been a challenge- but we are adjusting and things are starting to feel normal. I got a new calling and am now a beehive advisor in our ward. I'm really excited about it! I'm a room mom for Landen's Kindergarten class, so that should be fun. I'm excited to be involved with his school.

PHIL: Football season has started- so need I say more?

Family Pictures

While we were in Utah last week for my brother's wedding we had one of my sister's friends, Holly (http://www.photosbyhollylang.blogspot.com/) take family pictures for us. We did it at Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake.

Here are a few of the pictures, I'll post more later when we get the CD. I think these turned out great and can't wait to see them all!
